The first and foremost goal in the Sacaton Elementary School District’s Strategic Plan is Goal 1: Safe and Healthy Environment with the objective that “Sacaton Schools systems will provide a safe and secure educational environment that is proactive and responsive to known and unknown threats at the district, school and classroom levels ensuring the physical, mental and emotional safety of students and staff.” Being “proactive and responsive to known and unknown threats” has led the Governing Board to approve the purchase and implementation of a walk-through metal detection device at its November regular board meeting.
