Girl's Basektball

The two most significant changes on the middle school campus this spring have been the addition of the metal detector and our new master schedule. The metal detector has allowed us to scan the students off of the bus in the morning, the students who walk to school, and the students who get rides from their parents. We have also scanned the students on the special education busses. The purpose of the scans is just not to catch students bringing vaping materials onto the campus. The scans ensure that there are no guns or knives on campus. We are less than 2 weeks from Spring Break. We have not had a lockdown all year. Internally, within campus, what keeps us safe is our protocols. The classroom doors are locked. The bathroom traffic is limited.

There were several reasons the master schedule was changed. First, we wanted to provide the students with more specials (electives). Instead of going to P.E. or Culture once a week, the students go twice a week. Second, we wanted to provide time in the schedule for the adaptive programs like IXL Math and Epic and AR for reading. In class, students are taught at grade level The adaptive programs give students the opportunity to catch up to grade level. Third, we wanted to provide planning time and PLC time for our teachers. The new master schedule accomplished those goals.

During the upcoming week, we will have Culture Night in the elementary school gym from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. We have many big events on the horizon like the Mul-Cha-Tha in March. Our students build a float and participate in the parade. We also have any event at our school where we bring in singers, dancers, and jewelers from the region.
