Engage Embrace Contribute
Hello Sacaton Families,
As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued partnership in helping our students thrive. This month for Capturing Kids Hearts, we are focusing on the theme of "Perseverance," highlighting the power of persistence in achieving success. Your ongoing support plays a crucial role in your child’s progress, and we want to remind you that not only are your child's teachers here to assist, but all of our school staff is dedicated to supporting you every step of the way.
We also have some exciting upcoming events to share with you. Our Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled for Thursday, April 24th. If you are interested in learning more about our kindergarten program for the upcoming school year, please sign up by contacting the front office at 520-562-8600, ext. 3000.
During the Kindergarten Round Up, we will discuss:
An overview of Sacaton Elementary
A campus tour
Enrollment information
State Testing Our 3rd and 4th graders will begin taking the Arizona Academic Standards Assessments (AASA) in reading, writing and math. The testing window will begin the week of April 8th - April 25th. Please work hard to limit appointments that will interfere with testing. Attendance and arriving at school on time is very important, especially during the testing window as we want all students to have the best opportunity to perform their best when testing.
Testing Days:
Day 1 - Writing- Tues., April 8th
Day 2- Reading 1- Tues, April 15th
Day 3- Reading 2- Wed., April 16th
Day 4- Math 1– Thurs., April 17th
Day 5- Math 2- Tues, April 22nd
Testing Tips:
Sleep Well- Get a good night's rest. Students need 9-11 hours a night.
Encourage your child to do their best.
Strive to Arrive on time and Stay all Day
We are excited to share the great work our students and staff are doing in our after-school clubs! I have included some pictures from the fun and engaging activities happening in our various clubs.
We are proud of our talented staff who teach not only about Legos, but also include STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) ideas in other clubs like Music, Cooking, Cheer, and Gardening. These activities help our students develop new skills and inspire a love for learning outside of the classroom.
Thank you again for being such an important part of our school community.
In partnership,
Stephanie Celis
PK-4- Principal
